Lorna Crane, Susan Chancellor, Poppy Benton and Jen Mallinson were four artists from the Far South Coast of NSW who traveled to Broken Hill for a six-week residency at the Broken Hill Art Exchange Inc. Their residency was partly funded by the Regional Arts NSW CASP fund with support from South East Area Arts (SEAR). During their stay over six weeks they gave an artist talk at the Regional Art Gallery (10th May) that was well attended by local artists and visitors to the gallery. At the residency they were introduced to local art groups including GAARA arts and several local artists including Deirdre Edwards and Barbara Defranceschi. This has resulted in exchange visits between the desert and coastal artists and joint exhibitions.
