COFA -ILIRI

The Imaging the Land International Research Institute (ILIRI) at the UNSW College of Fine Arts is engaged in research in the area of imaging the land. ILIRI's cross-disciplinary projects centre on how we perceive and live in a land vulnerable to climate change. The Broken Hill Art Exchange works closely with ILIRI to facilitate all aspects of its activities in the region, particularly the ILIRI field trips. 

ILIRI is now calling for applications from artists and creative interdisciplinary teams to interact with the Creative Laboratory at Fowler's Gap, 1000 acres of land at the UNSW's Arid Zone Research Station which have been selected for exclusive use by artists and cross-disciplinary teams to explore their relationship with the environment and to experiment with sustainable projects. 2010 UNSW College of Fine Arts Environmental Course, Broken Hill

On the 10th July 2010 the UNSW College of Fine Arts conducted an Environmental Course including five days in Broken Hill and seven days at the UNSW Fowler's Gap Research Station. Twenty-two students from across the university, representing a range of disciplines including architecture, engineering, design, science and art, participated in the elective course.
